Heavy-Duty Diagnostics -- Agassiz BC

Fault Codes Aren't Useful If Nobody Knows What They Mean.

Mazdock runs full diagnostic scans on commercial trucks and heavy-duty equipment -- and we actually fix what the scan finds. Not just cleared codes and a bill.

Why heavy-duty diagnostics is a different job

Commercial trucks and heavy equipment run proprietary electronic systems that most light-duty scan tools can't access properly. A generic OBD-II reader on a Freightliner Cascadia gives you partial information at best -- it doesn't talk to the engine ECM, the transmission controller, the ABS module, or the emissions system the way a proper heavy-duty diagnostic tool does.

Clearing a fault code without understanding the underlying cause just means the light comes back on -- sometimes faster, sometimes on the road. Mazdock reads the full data, interprets what it means in context, and fixes the actual problem.

We don't hand you a printout and charge for the scan. Diagnostics is the beginning of the repair process, not a separate billable step that leads to a vague recommendation list.

What we diagnose

Full system coverage -- not just the engine light.

Engine

Full engine ECM read including fuel system, boost, temperature sensors, injector trim, timing, and performance data.

Transmission

Automated manual and automatic transmission fault codes, shift solenoid faults, clutch wear data, temperature alerts.

ABS + Brakes

ABS module faults, wheel speed sensor failures, EBS (Electronic Braking System) faults on air-brake trucks.

Emissions Systems

DPF (diesel particulate filter), EGR (exhaust gas recirculation), SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and DEF system faults -- diagnosis and repair.

Electrical Systems

Body control modules, lighting faults, sensor failures, multiplexed wiring issues on modern commercial trucks.

Hydraulic + Air Systems

Electronic hydraulic control faults on equipment, air system pressure monitoring faults, compressor data.

You get a straight answer -- not just cleared codes

After a diagnostic scan, we explain what the fault codes mean in plain terms -- what system is involved, what the likely cause is, what the options are, and what it's going to cost to fix it properly. No jargon, no upsell list.

If it's a simple sensor issue, we tell you that. If it's a sign of a deeper mechanical problem, we tell you that too. If it needs a repair that can wait versus one that will strand the truck, you'll know which is which.

Diagnostics pairs well with a CVIP inspection if your sticker is coming up -- we can combine the visits.
